Dencowear was single-handedly managed by Sue Sherman when her father, Louis Shinwell, retired.
Sue opened her first tiny workshop in Armley, Leeds in the early 1980s. In the days before computers were widespread and when every order was processed manually on paper.
Dencowear grew rapidly and with more machinists required, the Armley Unit wasn't fit for purpose, so we moved out into a larger factory in Barkston House, Holbeck, Leeds.
Having moved again, twice to meet our growth, Dencowear is now run from our 10,000 square ft HQ @Denco House, Meanwood, Leeds, providing you with award winning healthcare uniforms and bespoke garments for professionals throughout the UK and Europe.

3 Generations of Experience
Did you know the name Den-Co-Wear originated from the garment 'Dental Coat'?
It was a Cossack style Dental Jacket that Louis Shinwell (our current owners Grandfather) brought back from America in 1966, seeing a demand in the UK for this style.
This led to the founding of Dencowear where we would sell Cossack style Dental coats, and a handful of different clinical styles, to Dentists listed in the Dental Registry Book.
Since, the company has grown and developed greatly and we now supply you with high quality garments, in many styles, to a variety of healthcare professions.
