Dencowear are manufacturing in the UK!
We are proud that we still manufacture our own tunics at Salonwear (part of the Dencowear group). These items are usually for bespoke orders (that require specialist detail) or garments we need to produce for customers that may be out of stock in our warehouse.
Our main material supplier is in the UK, but we also source some from china. As a company we are proud to say that some of this work is done here in the UK, rather than out sourcing all of our work to other countries. This is in keeping with our historical background, when all our garments were made in the United Kingdom.
When we receive an order from our loyal customers for items that are not in stock, we send it straight to our Garment Cutter, Geoff. Geoff is very experienced as he has been with Dencowear for over 25 years. Geoff reviews the order to see which cutting sheet is needed (pattern), if we do not have the correct one he will make this himself.
Once the cutting sheet is made, Geoff lays up and cuts the material. He will cut out several different parts of the pattern ready for our super stitches, Janice, Mussarat and Pravina to sew them together. The first stage is the first over-lock, then the first sews, then over-locking together and finally the finishing touches such as pressing hemming and adding buttons. When this is done the garment is sent Yvonne to be checked, collated with the order form sent to be dispatched to the customer.
